Here we are.
Hubs and I.
Last minute night out together as I truly felt like we were passing in the night, running around like crazy people between things, and not getting that chance to have a conversation.
So....
to Fish City we went one night (of course) to...
reconnect...
visit...
and discuss all those things that were shoved aside day in and day out...
Big ROMANTIC night out, only...
we TOTALLY just ended up discussing our girls the WHOLE TIME.
Funny how that happens... you ache for a little quiet couple time
...only to sit and discuss the ones you left at home with the sitter- go figure- HA!
Regardless, these cuties are keeping us busy, happy, sleep-deprived, a little crazy....
and proud.
We wouldn't change a thing;).
Evelyn Marie.
Our sugar loving, iPad loving, cuddle loving,
sister loving kid.
She cracks me up with her 8 course breakfasts...
(ya i let it happen and then I just throw extras in the fridge for snack later... ha;))
...and her love for her family.
NEVER wants to be alone.
NEVER wants to feel like she isn't included in whatever is happening.
ALWAYS willing to help with chores, cleaning up, Daddy garage tasks, helping with Maggie...
and just ANYTHING to be right there with us.
My workout buddy... love her zest for life.
Let's be real... this kid WEARS ME OUT with her constant energy and want to have us right there with her all the time, but I do find myself laughing at night thinking through the crazy things she did and said that day, and telling myself "tomorrow Amy... slow down and enjoy her cute ALMOST 3 YEAR OLD self". I KNOW it'll be over before I know it, and I am trying so hard to just enjoy the moments I do have with her at home;).
{School Pics}
...but this kid LOVES- in ALL CAPS- school. She is always smiling, always willing to participate in everything, ALWAYS ready to see her friends those days she's at school.
And seeing cute pictures like these help me KNOW she is right where she wants to be. She comes home talking a mile a minute about all she did, friends she played with, and what she eat- HA! So, ya... we're in conversation with her school about her possibly starting there full-time in the new year!
Love this crazy, exhausting, happy, energetic baby girl;)!!!
Maggie Lou MaGoo.
She is just such a light (most days- ha:)).
She is a four year old just learning there MAY be some options in life- ha! She has begun temper tantrums and a bit of an attitude with stuff, but THANK GOODNESS for the World's BEST therapists. They are my people. No joke. They help, encourage, love, and hug us through all the tough stuff and are the FIRST ones to high five she and us as she continues to grow and thrive.
High-Five Worthy Moments:
She is sitting- like REALLY- no support needing- and LIKES it!
She is playing interactive games with us- and WANTS to play with others!
She is talking so much: says yes, no, hi, bye, up, I love you, alright, all done, big girl, and her sister's and parent's names. She mimics sounds constantly and has started responding to questions.
She gives the BEST hugs! All that CP muscle tone is GREAT for that;).
She WANTS to be upright, in her gait trainer, stander, chair, or on the floor. Done with crawling around.
...but above all- she seems happier. She is so proud of herself
{Heart Happy Moments}
Harper Grace...
growing up so fast, it's a bit surreal.
She is enjoying her one-on-one with her Daddy and I, because sometime being the big sister is tough;)....
...but truly LOVES her teacher, friends, and class.
First grade has been a great thing for this little lady!
She loved pointing out her name on the "new friends to the school" board! She felt pretty special including her pennant on the bulletin board in the cafeteria.
But LOOK at the difference between her framed kindergarten picture and her first grade one- WOW!!! She's beginning to lose the baby face.... not sure how this mama feels about that!
She rekindled a preschool friendship with Brody who happened to be in her class this year! These two run on the SAME FUEL- ha! Their energy levels match up perfectly and whenever they get together GOODLUCK keeping up. HA!
We finally got a chance to join Brody and his family at the children's museum here in town for some fun....
...and little sister got to come!
She. loves. that. place. ;)
There was one morning over Thanksgiving break that the little sisters had obligations, so Harper got a two-on-one morning! Doughnuts and bowling!!!
...and before it got to cold, we visited the drive-thru safari.
This place cracks me up every-time. It's such a crazy concept: driving your vehicle on a dirt road through pastures of animals who can walk right up to your car or are caged close enough that you can see them from your car- NUTS!!
{my favorite... the prairie dogs!}
...and then afterwards there is a petting zoo where you can interact with some of the animals. Evelyn was obsessed with this kangaroo... especially after she learned that the kangaroo had a joey in her pouch!!!
{Say cheese!!}
Another fun evening with Harper was Pete and I taking her to see the play, Charlotte's Web. The Harrison family invited us to accompany them to the show and we had such a nice time. We opted to leave the little ones with the sitter as I wasn't sure how they would do through the show, but it was nice... I know a certain six-year-old who felt pretty darn special that night.
....she LOVED and I mean LOVED the woman who played Charolette in the play. She asked for a hug from her afterwards and everything. And decided she would like to be JUST like Charlotte when she grows up;).... pretty much the sweetest!!
We're enjoying the last of the mild Fall days outside and soaking in these new friends! The Collins Family has been the sweetest. All of our girls are energetic, love outside, and pretty much goof off the entire time they're together listening to about 60% of what we say- ha! They sure do have fun together and I'm so glad we've been able to get to know them these past few months!
We were blessed to sneak in ONE last Mommy-Daddy date before the holiday break! One of Pete's friends told us of an organization called 99 Balloons that helps families with kiddos who have special needs. They run a specific event once a month called Recess where those kiddos with special needs, and their siblings, can come play while their parents get a night out. The girls LOVED every second of it, and their Daddy and I very much enjoyed our meal out together.... pretty much just talking about them- as usual- ha!
We are feeling more and more relaxed and grateful to be back in Arkansas. It's a special place, I tell ya. Our pest control lady has followed us to our different Arkansas homes and has truly become a great friend. This last pest treatment, she brought fresh pastries. Are you kidding?!?! She's amazing and one of those people I aspire to be when I grow up- living her life one small act of kindness at a time for those around her;).
Our life may be nuts. I may have meltdowns frequently wondering if I'm being the best I can be, doing the best by my children, being the best wife I can be, and managing our family correctly...
but lately...
ESPECIALLY this time of year...
...I think it's best to worry less,
do a little less,
and spend more energy with the people who add the happy in our lives.
It's the relationships that matter...
...and I'm a dork, so I say THAT'S what the holiday season is all about!
BRING ON CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!
