Life isn't about the breaths we take, but the moments that take our breath away...

Very FIRST Graduation!!

And POOF- Harper graduated from preschool!!  What the what?!?!  I just cannot believe it.... kind of the end of an era- ha!

I'm slightly obsessed with celebrations, holidays, an excuse really to decorate.  Harper's mid-week graduation was no exception... hehe!  Thanks to Nana & Papa for sending the flowers... she LOVED it!  And, I think I did pretty well with the homemade funfetti cake.  She was literally bouncing off the walls... but I think she felt pretty special and proud of herself.

{She's the one 5 in from the right}
 I mean I don't know if they can get cuter?!  Well, maybe if Harper wasn't scratching her leg- haha!

I got her to stop running around backstage for all of 3 seconds.  Long enough to snap a couple pictures with her incredible Junior Kindergarten teachers: Ms. Amy and Ms. Tash.  They are truly saints.  They dealt with 25 4-5 year olds and not only kept them happy and content, but taught them so much; Pete and I truly are in awe of them!

And lastly: a quick pic of the family before we headed out for the Spring Fling.  Happy Day for our oldest- proud of you, Harper Grace!!!  Kindergarten here we come!!!

Best Mother's Day Yet!!

Not sure when it will (if ever) not be a bittersweet day for me.  Mother's Day is such a beautiful day spent acknowledging all the incredible mother's I've been privileged to know, but also a time to wrap my arms around my own babies and thank God for all the moments I have been blessed to be their Mommy.  Just wish I could hug all my munchkins (I mean- I wish that every day, but Mother's Day makes my heart a little more)...

I started this weekend with a fun Mother's Day breakfast at Harper's school!  So fun!  They did a beautiful job and even had a photo booth with props- ha!  Harper loved that she and I were pictured in the entry way from their celebration last year- so sweet!

And then... I woke on Sunday to find the hubs had put together an agenda of our fun-filled day.  Anyone knowing Pete, knows this is incredible.  I'm usually the one with the lists, agenda's, and to-do's for our day.  He knows I'm crazy about organization and love our family time- combining them for a day of fun together was PERFECT...made this momma feel so special.

Needless to say, spending a day gardening, homemade food (not made by me;)), and fun times together complete with little gifts was incredible.  Left me floored and grateful for my little family.

And to ALL the soon to be momma's, mommy friends I've met, and those mother's in our family- hope your day made you heart happy and you know just how special you are;)....

7 Years in the books!!!

Can't believe we've been married 7 years already?!?!  It feels like just yesterday at the same time that it feels like centuries ago!  Ha... I guess when you've been in each other's life since you were teenagers, all that growing up together makes you feel that way!  He's shown me how to do laundry, drive a stick shift, and just how to treat a best friend, because that's who he is: 15 years together, 7 years married, and 5 kids later he's my very best friend.

This year he showed himself up and surprised me with an anniversary extravaganza!  All I was told was to dress up and be ready by 5.  Hmm... dinner maybe?!  Well, I happened to notice our usual babysitter was lugging quite a large bag that evening and my assumptions were correct when he slid a hotel key across the table while we were at dinner.  Our FIRST night away from all 3 of them.  I was shocked, as I wasn't sure if I could handle this being 'sprung' on me, but it was a beautiful evening: fancy dinner at The Hive, fun drinks at Pressroom, before returning to our room at 21c and downing a cheeseburger and fries- ha!

 {Yummy dinner: he even ordered a bottle of wine for the table AND after dinner drinks- I mean, who are we!?!?  HA}

 {Pete proposed 8 years ago after a behind-the-scenes playtime with the penguins.  It was incredible, and our family mascot will forever be the penguin.  So, it was fitting that it was also the mascot of the hotel... and that there was a 4ft. on in our hotel room- ha}
And then, on our actual anniversary (which was a Monday night) I did him up right: Steak on the grill, veggies, and brownies and strawberries for dessert.  The girls LOVED it... and would you believe: this was my FIRST time grilling thanks to my mom coaching me through it over FaceTime- ha!

Happy 7 Years, Babe!!

Love you more than ever... thanks for doing life with me;)!
