Spring is upon us- whohooo!!! Love this time of year... full of so much fun, weather improving (minus the tornado weather we've had lately-yikes), and lots of events with kids!
{Spring Picture Day}
She cracks me up... all the sequins, all the frills, all the curls and bows for this girly girl! She was PSYCHED to dress up and be fancy for her special day!
{Jitterbugs Spring Recital}
So cute to watch her up there shaking her tail feathers and singing to all the songs with her friends at her dance recital- happy girl for sure!!! And, she loved her CHOCOLATE tulip to celebrate- instead of real flowers- lol! She had the whole thing eaten before we were home;)
She is for SURE becoming her own little person: she LOVES to cuddle and be by us no matter what PREFERRING to help around the house or with activities- cracks us up!!
Maggie Lou is LOVING being back on the horse farm at Hoofin' It with Ms Codi and her peeps;). Victor is the sweetest pony and she loves seeing him each week...
...she even gets to brush him afterwards;)- love!!!
She DID have yet ANOTHER surgery to help her ankles align correctly. She had to be in casts for 3 weeks which was a bummer, but she was a TROOPER and thrilled to get those casts off after those long few weeks! We are blown away by how her feet and ankles look and she is actually TAKING STEPS now that her feet are in a more comfortable position- SO EXCITING!!!!!
This little lady is rocking and rolling through her last couple months of second grade!
She is still Norman's very best friend.... those two just "get" each other- haha!
....and she finished up church school for the year!! We celebrated with Frosty's for she and her friend, Addy!!
...but her bestie, Brody, actually made his First Communion this year!! Their friendship is just the sweetest, and she was so excited to be there with him on his special day;).
Running! Running!! Running!!!
Harper and I ran in our second Gold Rush Race this year! She trains at school with her classmates and then parents get to join them for a run through downtown Bentonville! Love doing this with her, although she DID treat the race as a series of sprints and kept leaving me in her dust- haha!
...but I got another race in the books.
The Bentonville Half-Marathon!!!!
This time: alongside my friend and CRAZY motivating exercise buddy, Jen!!
Loved that the photographer snapped a pic of our feet together during the national anthem before the race.
...we ran this race as a relay last year, and this year (due to the crazy cool medals) decided to run the whole thing together.
What. A. Race.
I actually got choked up a couple times throughout as it is INCREDIBLE to see the community come together to support the runners in this sweet town. AND, a major shout out to MY sweet husband to taking our children to 3 different areas of the course to cheer me on- loved it!
Jen... you're legit, my friend! Thank you for training with me, dealing with me when I would get grumpy about those long runs, teaching me how to properly stretch out sore legs, and cheering me on every step of the way... love you, lady!!!
Post Half-Marathon, we have been doing a workout challenge to get summer ready- ha! Who knew those daily workouts could be as much fun as they are when you have a buddy?! Somehow makes it more fun and encouraging to share the sweat with a friend- ha!
Surprise!!!
Our friends Niki and Jarrod surprised us with a night away altogether. All we were told was to book an overnight sitter, pack a bag, bring some snacks, and leave the rest to them.... ahh!!!
We ended up at Flamingo Springs, an RV PARK!!!! HA!!!!!
It was actually SO cool!!! They were older RV's that the owners had gutted and decked out in all kinds of outlandish themes. Pete and I's RV was Lisa Frank style- I LOVED it. Niki and Jarrod's was decked out to the 50s... hilarious!!!
We enjoyed a night together laughing, playing games, grilling out, and just catching up- so SO fun!!
Hoofin' It Bonanza!!!
Each year, the place where Maggie does hippotherapy, Hoofin' It, hosts a charity event to raise money for the program and supplies. It's SO FUN to take the girls, pet and love on the horses and ponies, participate in the auction....
...and watch the NWA Rounders (a group of teenage girls who perform a synchronized show ON horseback). Harper is in love with this event and I honestly can picture her up there performing with those girls someday....
just need a truck, a horse trailer, and oh ya... a horse;)- whatcha think, Daddy?!?
Impromptu friend time!! Love Spring for SO many reasons, but one of the top reasons: working in the yard, neighbors out too, "wanna come over and hang/have dinner together?" "sure!!" LOVE IT!!! Sometimes the unplanned stuff is the most fun.....
until you look up from cooking to see 4 of the kids with nerf guns pointed directly at you- LOVELY... ha!
{Mother's Day 2019}
Always ALWAYS bittersweet for me as I wish I could cuddle all 5 of my babies on this special day, but my girls, mom, and husband sure did make me feel loved this year....
the tiny hand-printed projects are hands down (get it?!-ha) the BEST!!!!
We got to enjoy brunch at my fav spot: Mirabella's Table....
followed by a pedicure done 100% by my oldest daughter- ha!
...and froyo at TCBY!!! YUM!!!!!
...and a sweet visit with my angel babies, to round out my cuddle time with each of my munchkins;).
All in all... it was fantastic. Got to spend lots of time facetiming my OWN mama, enjoying each of my girls, and feeling SO LOVED..... thank you to my crew for giving me the title, Mommy... it may be the single hardest job of my life, but worth it all- LOVE THEM!!!!!
The end of the school year is upon us....
SO MANY fun events and craziness these last few weeks...
Harper was legit packed 5 days ahead of time for her "camp out" during one of her school days... the sweetest.
With all that fun, comes a barrel of emotions from Ms. Harper Grace. She has LOVED her teacher and her class this year. It's been one for the books. She is anxious, excited, nervous... all of it, as this school year comes to an end... add into the mix that her Daddy (legit her best friend) has been out of town with work quite a bit lately- she's been VERY emotional.
Thank goodness for her understanding Daddy and facetime though... he would facetime her every night he was away and talk to her until she was almost asleep. They are goofballs- most of the conversations filled with doing funny filters on each other, but I was grateful for him being there for her- despite his crazy schedule and being away. Lucky girl, for sure;).
We are signed up for camps, dusted off all the outdoor gear, planted the garden, and got our Summer Bucket List Ready....
Summer- here we COME!!!!!!!!!
