Father's Day 2014

What a fun weekend we had together spending time as a family.  I had thought through some fun 'Daddy centered' activities for Pete to enjoy that were all outside... well of course when we woke up on Sunday morning it was pouring rain and thunder-storming- ha!  So, we decided to try out bowling until the weather cleared up!

Harper's first bowl... good job, sweetheart!

Final Score!  Harper did WELL for her first time bowling- she really seemed to like it;)!

 yummy pizza afterwards!

... and when we left the weather was beautiful!  Perfect time for Daddy to visit with ALL his kiddos on Father's Day;)

...I believe this to be the sweetest gift Pete got this Father's Day.  I just love these projects put together by Harper and her teachers- adorable.  We got some good laughs out of her answers- hehe!

Happy Father's Day, Pete!  You have been such a wonderful husband and bringing children into the mix has been amazing- our children adore you.  Thank you for ALL the happy you help bring to this family and for taking such great care of us.  Love you!

I wish ALL of our Daddy friends and family a very Happy (belated) Father's Day!

Miracle May... and other happy moments!

What a FANTASTIC month, May has been.  I really am dubbing it Miracle May, as Ms. Maggie continues to show us just what she is made of...

In April we met with Maggie's neurologist who expressed some concerns with Maggie's vision.  He wasn't sure the extent of her vision or really if she had any there.  I left with a pit in my stomach, but as is with every hiccup we hit with Maggie, I prayed like crazy that I could accept what is meant to be for her and began searching to find a plan to give her the best chance to be successful.  Pete and I discussed the possibility of moving where there were blind schools and scheduled a visit with a vision therapist in town.  We left his office on a Thursday.  That Sunday Pete was playing with Maggie on the floor, snapping pictures as we always do, and then jokingly 'showed' Maggie her cute self on the screen.  He moved to set the phone from which he took the picture on the ground next to him and her eyes and face followed the phone!  Stunned he brought the picture to her again and she AGAIN followed it.  With tears in his eyes he yelled for me and I taped it immediately and sent it to Maggie's doctors.  AMAZING.  Amazing news is all we kept saying....

Since then we have met with a vision therapist and had tests done with an opthamologist.  MAGGIE CAN SEE!!!  Her sight is very delayed, but what she sees is being processed in her brain and that is what's important.  She may need glasses at some point {I personally think children/babies in glasses are PRECIOUS}, but knowing that she will see was music to my ears... an incredible moment for sure.

This little girl continues to surprise us and remind us of the true miracle of life... what a gift you are, Ms. Maggie!

During our visit in St. Louis we also met up with baby Josie and her mother, Jamie.  The girls' hospital stays overlapped, but it was so wonderful to be able to visit with them on the outside of the NICU walls... what miracles these girls are!

Big Sister started back at preschool!!  She was slightly shy at first as she was confused why she wasn't at school in St. Louis;), but soon warmed up to her new school and I already catch her giving hugs to her friends when she walks in the door- so sweet!

With big sister away, Maggie and I have enjoyed our time together, I feel I'm finally getting caught up on household duties from being away for so long, and her therapy schedule seems much more do-able... the Lee family enjoys our new schedule for sure.

Love sleepy baby pictures.... bless them!

...and happy baby pictures;)

Should running errands dressed as Elsa include the occasional doughnut?.... well of course!

We're for SURE enjoying the warmer weather....
got the babies memorial decked out in bright summer colors...

and enjoyed a fun family picnic at the park!

Eating cool whip and berries WITH an ice cream scoop- well that just makes sense;)

...and Ms. Maggie is finally holding two toys at a time... she gets so proud of herself when she pulls them to her mouth- love it!
We finally made it to the Gentry Safari Drive-thru Zoo!  That place is so cool.  Harper wasn't quite sure of some of the animals that came up to our car;), but enjoyed feeding baby animals at the petting zoo following the tour- fun, fun!

{that's a baby turtle...so fun!}

Harper is just starting to come out of her shell with gymnastics {and of course the spring season just ended;)}, but it's been so great to see her master new skills from her class.

...lil shy to get her medal at the end
...but enjoyed performing in the fun end-of-the season show with her gymnastics buddies;)

rainy day fun....
...and fun with friends
...is what summer is all about!  We're excited to be able to enjoy this time of year with weddings, pool days, and lots of friend and family time outside.  I hope to be able to update more on here, but look forward to seeing most of you in the coming months!

It's crazy to think of this time last year, I was so sick and worried, as we grasped our new life as I was pregnant with triplets.  I'm hoping this summer to give Harper a little more fun to her summer filled with lots of good times with friends and family, and little Ms. Maggie;)!

Happy Summer!

Festivities!!

We made our first trip up to Indy as a family of 4!  I was pleasantly surprised as it actually went smoothly and we all had such a wonderful time with out families celebrating the holiday and hosting a bridal shower for my sister, Abby!

Nana's face is PRICELESS!  She just scooped Maggie out of her car seat- ha!  I am pretty sure ours matched hers just in being able to stand upright for the first time in 10 hours... and to hand off our kiddos to loving arms for a few days- hehe!

This lil one is right where she wants to be.... and pretty much where she remained for most of the weekend;)... this child was welcomed to Indy with open arms.  She only saw her crib at night time and she wouldn't have it any other way (neither would we;)).

Happy Baby!

love these people;)

The bride, my beautiful sister Abby, and our grandmother... so great to be able to celebrate this next chapter in Abby's life with close family and friends at a French tea....

 ...complete with yummy maccaroons {Thank you, Mary's Sweet Treats;)}

 The O'Connell sisters!

Such a fun time... gorgeous day to celebrate and we even got to snoop on another wedding happening on the grounds... cannot WAIT for 3 more weeks when we get to be a PART of the big wedding!!

While us girls celebrated, Pete took our girls for their FIRST visit to visit his parents.  Harper was pumped for a pool day and from the looks of the pictures, it looks as if Maggie's spoiling continued;)...

nothing like pool time AND Grandpa time in the same day!!!

Cuddles with Grandma were the icing on the cake!

Harper even got to swim with her cousin, Laila!  They had a blast!!

Fast forward a couple weeks, and this LAST weekend I was up there without the kiddos and husband to celebrate my sister's last night on the town as an O'Connell.  Anna and I had a BLAST planning her Bachelorette Extravaganza... gosh, I forgot just HOW much fun we could have together!!

What a fun weekend spent with family and friends to celebrate the beautiful bride-to-be!!  I truly know I keep saying it, but I cannot wait for the big day on July 4.... this has been over a year in the making- sooooo excited!!

...and I HAVE to give a shout out to the hubs.  He sent me pictures and videos the whole weekend of the fun stuff he did with the girl while I was away.  They looked to be in heaven and having a blast with their uninterrupted Daddy time.  Love him for being so great in watching them and allowing me to  spend some time with my sisters, putting my Mommy duties on hold for a bit;)... love you, babe!
