Summer is upon us!!
In the last month of school it became increasingly harder to stick to the bedtime schedule! Later days, warmer weather, and outside fun made it SO tough, but I have to say- once the munchkins GOT to bed- they were OUT- hehe!
Pretty sure this is where you would find these too EVERY afternoon! Saige and Harper- besties, classmates, and next door neighbors- what more could a girl ask for right?!
Sweaty hair, giggly faces, and cool treat in hand- after-school routine for sure;)!
{Field Day 2017}
...so sweet! I couldn't make it out, but loved the adorable pictures her teacher sent- Pretty sure it was Harper's favorite day of school to date!!!
{Sisters!!!}
These two love and dislike each other like no other. Harper LOVES to play the big sister card and show Evelyn the ropes on everything. She may be a bit bossy, but Evelyn EATS. IT. UP. I have to keep an ear out when the two are together, who KNOWS what Harper will talk Evelyn into, but they are never short on fun... love it.
...showing her how to put on chapstick- even Mags was taking notes!!
...and speaking of notes, I LOVE crawling into my bed and finding notes like this (complete with a Lego garden AND one of her blankies- ha) from little miss. She so enjoys drawing and writing and I am collecting quite a collection of post-its in my bedside table- how do I ever get rid of them?!?!
Maggie's making friends!
Our neighbors also have a kiddo with cerebral palsy and we decided to join forces and put together a team to support Gillette Children's Hospital! Walk & Roll was SO MUCH FUN!!!
The whole crew!
Pete sent an invite out to his team at General Mills and most of them showed up- I was so humbled and LOVED getting to know them better. Nothing like bonding in a park, on a 90 degree day, amongst 1,000 strangers- HA! We had a BALL and honestly, I don't know what we would have done without them: one coworker walked the dog, another a kid, another helping with the food- haha! THANK YOU, General Mills Team!!!
Thanks to my incredible friend, Mara for taking on the unthinkable: baking tiger-themed cookies, packaging them, and sending them from ARKANSAS no less, for me to hand out at the race. She's amazing and I am grateful!!
Thank you to EVERYONE who supported the Walk & Roll. Your donations, thoughts, prayers, and those that walked on our team- THANK you for supporting children with cerebral palsy and their families- it means more than you know.
{School Days for Mags}
Her fantastic teacher, Ms Christina, sent these amazing pictures of Maggie in all her glory with her "bestie" Ms. Kim. Ms. Kim began her first year at WELS as a para and she has been nothing short of amazing. Her job is to help Maggie be included in the happenings of her preschool day. She has given Maggie the ability to learn, establish confidence, and be HAPPY in social situations outside her home. She has been such a gift to our little girl and honestly- Maggie's very first best friend.
Ms. Kim, you are AMAZING!!!
...and speaking of amazing, Pete and I went to Maggie's end-of-year IEP meeting and were blown away by all that Maggie's educational team had done for her this past year. It was the first meeting with "Maggie professionals" where I knew Pete and I weren't her only advocates- we were in a room FULL OF THEM. I soaked up all the information they had to share on our baby girl, hugged each and every one of them, and then had a quick DAY date with the hubs. Our first one since we've lived here. By the looks of that picture do you think we got a little over-excited?! HA! One fantastic meeting and a HUGE breakfast later, we felt so great about all that Minnesota has been for Mags!
Thank you, Wayzata School District!!! You ROCKED IT!!!
..snapshot of out family walks;). Maggie "walking Norman" from the stroller- she LOVES it!
On one of our family walks, we decided to stop at the neighbor's driveway for lemonade and bubbles! This mama is still getting used to having a newly potty-trained 2-year-old in the group- OOPS!
Our neighbor: "Is that lemonade or urine between Evelyn's legs?"
...and THAT'S our cue to head home- ha! Girl can't go 2 hours without a potty break yet!!
...she's also VERY independent! Pants down, emptied her potty sink, then rinsing it out... oh DEAR potty-training is so different with the third born- HA!!
{Besties}
Evelyn and Miley are PRECIOUS!!! Miley has been coming over some afternoons as a 'Mommy helper' and Evelyn is OBSESSED!!! Who knew how much a 2 year old and a 9 year old could connect. They are the sweetest...GRATEFUL FOR YOU, MILEY!!
In our last month in this house, we have been soaking in the time we still have under this roof...
...what better way to do that then bake some cupcakes?!
...and love on our Daddy. "Tickle monster" has become an every-evening occurrence- HAHA! Poor Daddy just gets ATTACKED, but I'm pretty sure he loves it;)... especially when it's followed up with Evelyn 'tucking him in' and reading him a bedtime story- haha!
Littlest sister is still the craziest of the bunch. Remember those cupcakes I mentioned earlier?! Well I thought she would be so excited to eat what she helped make- oh no- she unwrapped the cupcake, smeared it all on the table. I looked over- thought she was eating FOOD- but my mistake, she was chomping down on the cupcake wrapper- oh dear goodness....
...and when you address the undesirable behavior, she promptly closes her eyes, because if SHE can't see you- YOU can't see her, right?! HA!
Independent is the name of her game: she was ready to go for a walk- dressed in her swimsuit and Harper's shoes... wrong feet, mismatched shoes, no care at all;)!
{May School Days}
She may be crazy, but I sure am a SUCKER for that smile... hence the ice cream cone in her hand;).
Day #1 of our house on the market, so why WOULDN'T the sidewalks get busted up to be replaced?! OH. MY. WORD.
No worries... we still got a few showings that first weekend and have used our forced home evacuations, to enjoy exploring Minnesota!
Splash Pad time!!
Evelyn LOVED it!!! So grateful we have one similar in Arkansas to cool down on hot summer days!!
Minnehaha Falls
SOOOOO BEAUTIFUL!!
My personal favorite moment of that outing...
As we pulled up, Harper asks with worry in her voice: "Mommy, do you think they'll have the waterfall turned on today?!"
Oh DEAR, we need to get this family out in nature more!
...oh MAN Harper was thrilled to take a picture with me- HA!
{Park fun!!}
Back home for backyard play dates: watermelon, blow up pool, and friends- what more could you ask for, right?!
...and when you've had too much sun, it's time to come in for movie time- sweet friends!!
I even got some fun time with MY sweet friends! Girls night is good for the soul;)!
Thank you ladies for such a fun night!!! Neighbor love!!!
...and speaking of AWESOME neighbors... the second one from the right is an incredible photographer and I knew I needed to get one last set of family pics before we headed back- HA!
Thank you, Jen!!!
May was a BIT of a blur, but I'm telling you- Minnesota KNOWS how to do summer! It has been a BLAST!! We loved all the friend time, outings, school activities, and fun.
Happy Summer!!
