A school year comes to a close...
It is always so happy...
chaotic
emotional
craziness
and a reflection...

Evelyn Marie
Goddard School: Butterfly Classroom
Ms. Katie & Ms. Katie
{WELS block time room: Ms. Lisa & Ms. Sarah}
This little one has gone from babbling to speaking in sentences. She is adventurous, smart beyond belief, and a trouble maker through and through. She is independent, loving, and sensitive. School has been nothing short of PERFECT for her. She loves school and all the activities. Her teachers wish she talked more and wasn't so shy in class? Are they talking about the same Evelyn? HA! She moved to a big-girl bed this year, dropped the pacifier, and potty-trained- WOW.
Her year in one word: independence
We have had SO MUCH FUN with Evelyn this past year. She seems to be growing a mile a minute- makes me so excited to do summer with her, but where did my baby go?!?!?!
September 2016 - June 2017
Maggie Lou
WELS: 3's class
Ms. Christina & Ms. Kim
Gosh, just looking at these pictures I can see just how much she has grown!! She is taller, heavier, and looking more and more like a big kid every day! She's gone up 2 SIZES in clothes and is eating like a horse- I'm so proud! She went from babbling to saying words, even 2 word sentences, from army crawling to walking in a gait trainer, and has made SO MANY FRIENDS!! I cannot believe she completed her first year of school! She has matured and learned so much. I almost cried at her last IEP meeting when her speech therapist told me she feels confidently that Maggie WILL talk one day. I kid you not, I wasn't sure I ever would see the day that this little girl would walk OR talk and she is DOING BOTH. The TEAM of professionals that work with her each day she's at school are incredible. I feel like I have grown just as much as Maggie this year, as she and I navigate school, hand-in-hand. She has so enjoyed school, her therapies, swimming, and horseback riding this year- GO MAGGIE GO!!!!

Harper Grace
Meadow Ridge Elementary: Kindergarten
Ms. Rieland & Ms. Uma
What an UNBELIEVABLE year it has been for Ms. Harper. She has been in school since she was 3 months old, so naturally I expected her kindergarten year to me NO BIG DEAL, but it was a HUGE year for her! New state. New town. New neighborhood. New school. New teachers. New friends.
OF COURSE IT WAS A BIG DEAL!!!
Harper has been incredible this year. She made so many wonderful friends- and God had a way of placing one of her best friends right next door to us! She has been reading more and more, drawing, and writing like crazy. She loves math, anything to do with space, and adores animals. I love our afternoon routine of snack time just she and I where she can tell me all about her day. This has been especially important because she has struggled a bit with anxiety and inattention this year. Her teacher, school counselor, and nurse were on the issue right away and helped me navigate her first school year with grace. We all worked together to teach Harper 'school hacks' to help her while continuing to boost her self-esteem. We did opt to do some additional testing, and have found that little miss does have ADHD. We look forward to learning more about this over the summer and we all look forward to adapting new ways of learning for Harper in first grade. Ultimately, I think Harper was in the perfect place for her first year of school. Her school team and doctors have been incredible in helping Harper be successful while maintaining her spirit. Our baby girl is growing up- FIRST GRADE HERE WE COME!!
What. A. Year.
2016 - 2017 School Year- you've been amazing.
I can't believe each of the girls was involved in programs this year! They have matured so much. I know I am creeping further and further from the baby stage, but I have to say: I am enjoying each of the stages with my girls more and more... watching them each become their individual selves has been incredible. LOVE!
