SUMMER!!!!!!!!!
A somewhat unnecessary {yet MUCH LOVED} tradition my mom started when I was little (and carried through until I graduated college no less... side note: she IS AWESOME;)) is "last day of school gifts". I loved packing a summer bag for the girls with new summer-fun items mixed with a "keep the academics going" kinda thing...
So, girls came home from their last day of school to a little last day of school gift and a fun celebration with the neighbor kids!!
bounce house ~ pool ~ root beer floats
Kids seemed to have a BLAST bouncing, splashing, eating, bouncing, splashing eating, repeat for quite awhile that afternoon.
Not sure if it was the excitement, the pure sugar on their bellies, or a mix of the two, but for the life of us moms we could NOT get a decent picture of the group!!
....and Harper's new thing is to cross her eyes in EVERY picture, so why not do it here.... oh brother!
Ms. Maggie wasn't feeling the greatest, so she kinda kept to herself. Bear LOVED it;)!!
...and Ms. Evelyn was STOKED that her BFF Miley was out for the summer! Root-beer-float-cheers to these besties!!!
And Cheers to these beauties and the newest First Graders!!!
Mia, Saige, and Nora... you girls are AWESOME and a few of the sweetest 6 year olds we know!! This group calls themselves "sissies" and they have a friend language all their own. So grateful for the friendship they've given Harper this past year- couldn't have asked for a better kindergarten class!!
...and speaking of the best, these two, Ms. Rieland and her para, Ms. Uma were INCREDIBLE with our baby girl!! What a year of growth and discovery with Ms. Harper and these two were right there to support, guide, and love her!!
Harper forgot her yearbook at school that last day, so we had to head back on the first day of summer to retrieve it. Pretty sure she may have done that on purpose just to get one more hug in with her teachers! LOVE!
We were able to spend one last visit with Daddy at the Minnesota General Mills office. Harper has LOVED visiting Daddy at work and eating in the cool cafeteria- haha!
American Girl Doll Summer Kick-Off Celebration!!
Mia invited Harper and Nora (along with their mommies) to a fun afternoon at the american Girl Doll Store. Lunch, shopping, and a new do for their dolls made these girls VERY happy and we had a BLAST!!!
Thank you, Mia (and Mia's mommy) for organizing such a fun girly day! We had a BALL!!!
Track & Field Camp!!!
So, call it moving brain if you will, but I SPACED remembering I had signed Harper up for Track practice this month-OOPS!! After completely missing the first "meet", we were there for the second one and Harper LOVED it! She was a bit apprehensive at first, but when she saw her buddies, Connor and Mia, she was SET!! She ran, did the high jump, and cheered on her friends!! It made her heart content to walk away with a couple ribbons and a cool track t-shirt- so fun!!!!
Harper's FIRST adult tooth!!!
I swear this whole losing teeth thing is fascinating and a little crazy! She's lost two teeth and has two adult teeth now poking through! She is a bit obsessed and asks for pictures like this to see "the progress" until she can see them herself- HA!
I think the little squirts are happy to have big sis home!!!
Harper is ALL ABOUT PERFORMING these days!
It started with her end-of-year performance and now she does evening concerts for us. Flower girl dress from years ago, hair brushed with water to smooth it on one side, ribbon in hand, and Ellie Goulding playing through the speakers- SHE LOVES IT. This particular night she even made admission tickets to her show, decorated the living room, provided floor pillows for seating, and snacks to enjoy during the show... we loved it!
Vacation Bible School 2017!!!
I had such fond memories of VBS when I was little so I totally talked it up to Harper when she was nervous about a week long camp with "new friends". She ended up LOVING IT!! The theme was all about building believers which means there were many "building" activities. Between that and the fun music set with motions (we had to buy the soundtrack to keep the party going at home;)) she was set.
SO WELL DONE, St. Josephs!!!!
Lastly, little miss and I had a yummy hot dog dinner and attended a Summer Academy orientation! These last couple weeks we're in Minnesota she gets to go to a half day "summer academy/camp" program through the school district. Her teacher, Ms. Michel is SO SWEET and Ms. Rieland (her kindergarten teacher) is even on the staff there so MORE MS. RIELAND HUGS- WHOHOOO!!! She enjoys it so much and I am grateful for the few extra weeks of "routine" before Arkansas summer officially begins;)!!
Neighborhood Fun!!!
Davis family was AWESOME to have us over for dinner when the hubs was out of town. LOVE THEM and their super sweet kiddos...
Ali thank you for always inviting us over for all kinds of neighborhood fun and for renewing my love of root beer floats- HA!!
Lemonade Stand!!!!!
These girls wanted to do this stand in the WORST way!!! After some thought, we were able to scrounge up some supplies and get the sellers outside! It just so happened that there was some construction happening on our street during the sale... Harper was adamant to sell to the construction workers and I just kept saying, "let the men work, they'll be over if they're thirsty". Well, I think these cuties won them over. A LINE of construction workers came over, sold us out of lemonade in 10 min and so I emptied our garage fridge of sodas- hahahahaha! The workers {and these little ladies} were thrilled. Guys felt refreshed and the girls were dancing around with their $5 cut each- HAHAHA!
...we even had some ice cold water for the pooches!
MAGGIE'S GAIT TRAINER!!!!!!
We have been patiently (well, not so patiently;)) waiting for months to finally call a gait trainer ours and it HAS ARRIVED!!!! We love having it and Maggie whines until she's finally in it. LOVE IT!! She is building up her strength, but getting better each day and maneuvering it around the house. Her favorite is being outside, with friends in the neighborhood and when we're at the barn- so fun to see her up with her sisters, a part of the group- GO MAGS GO!!!
...just cuties eating their lunch;)
With Harper in activities half-days right now, it has been me against these two... I mean me ENJOYING my time with these two- HA. Most days: they are winning and I am pooped, but trying ever so hard to take a deep breath, and enjoy the time I have with them at home. They are just BUSY BUSY!!!
Sisters walking to the bus stop;)!
This particular morning:
Harper: "Mom, Evelyn wants to be just like me. I will get her dressed and get her book bag on JUST like me before I walk to the bus stop."
Little sister was BEAMING with joy all the way to the bus stop, hand-in-hand with her sister, book bag bouncing up and down.....
...all the way until she tripped and fell on the pavement- blooding BOTH knees...
...and then the ultimate, Harper let go of her hand, and got on the bus, waving goodbye to her sister with the stinging knees
MELTDOWN OF THE HIGHEST ORDER.
It was so sad... ugh. She melted to the pavement, book bag flying upwards, as she wept watching the school bus pull away. Oh dear.
After I scraped her sad self off the ground, the little sisters and I grabbed snacks and headed to the park... nothing a good swing can't fix, right?!
{Maggie has a bit of growing to do in the special-needs swing;), but she still loved it;)- hehe}
Oh Ms. Evelyn. Every time I go to upload my phone's pictures to the computer, I'm bound to find no less than 100 pics of her forehead, the carpet, or cute little feet. I deleted the others, but these cute little feet- ya, they're a keeper;)!
A couple snapshots of Evelyn's preschool fun!!
{gosh, she just looks so old sitting there writing with a marker- ahhhh, where is my baby?!?!}
House Showing Minnesota Escapades!!!
When there is a showing, we go out for doughnuts!!!!!!
...and hang at the parks and splash pad!!
Maggie's fav park toy!!!
Seriously she LOVED IT!!! And now she's got me thinking how I can mount one of these bad boys in the back yard- HA!!!
Father's Day 2017!!!
Harper had fun setting up the celebration for Daddy;)
This girl seems to love family celebrations as much as her Mommy. Even though she has already made a beautiful gift for her Daddy she freaked out the morning of that the "set-up" didn't look good enough. She gathered items from around the house and wrapped them up to make it more special- HA!
We treated Daddy to a weekend of fun;): golf and dinner with his friend, Travis, on Saturday and then outlet mall shopping (his fav;)- seriously) and Five Guys on Sunday!!!
He LOVED the golf, but the outlet mall was one of those "the idea was better on paper" type of things. The kids had ZERO patience for shopping. Snacks, park play, NOTHING was calming the whining and emotional status of the Lee girls so we called the trip short, grabbed some juicy burgers, and eat them at home- HA!!!
So now, in the last couple weeks being in the 55446 zip code, we are soaking in our favorites:
homemade fries and ice cream from Honey + Mackies- CHECK
seriously, it's the best I've ever had... Grasshopper flavor is DELICIOUS!!!
date night at People's Organic-Check!!
Best fish tacos in Minnesota!!!! YUM!!!!!
But all in all, reality is the time is almost here. Mags and I went to buy some more "packin' totes" for the uhaul and we have been wrapping it up. Pulling our stuff together, packing, and soaking up the best parts of Minnesota....
