I'll probably continue to say it every SINGLE year, but I cannot BELIEVE another year has come and gone, and little Ms Maggie Lou is SIX YEARS OLD!! Still feels like yesterday when she came into this world, FULL of life AND feistiness... and she's been the same EVERY DAY SINCE;).
She makes it easy to celebrate her... we decided to plan a whole Saturday doing EVERYTHING Maggie would like to do. Harper helped me shop for all things Spirit Riding Free- her favorite show... and we decked out the table and did a little decorating;)... with a piƱata of course!!
horses and party blowers- two of her favs....
...complete with a little party favor on her plate;).
Harper made a list of everything Maggie loves and we made it our mission to tackle them ALL for her party day;).
First stop: Crystal Bridges for a picnic lunch of Newk's pizza before a walk through the park....
...then a little time playing in the water
...before a birthday treat!! We walked the trail back to the car, hopped into the much needed AC in the van, and headed home to finish our checklist.
Swinging, books, barbies, and listening to Katy Perry also happened....
before her meal of spaghetti, bananas, and CAKE!!
The entire O'Connell crew chimed in to sing Mags "Happy Birthday and cheer for her as she blew out her candles;)... excuse me while I dab my happy tears away- LOVE!!!!!
then, she seemed to enjoy her Mommy-creation of Spirit (in cupcake form;))- ha!!
Afterwards, we headed outside for some silly string craziness...
...and water/bubble fun!! This little lady (and her sisters;)) LOVED all of her gifts... Maggie legit played in the water table for 3 hours one afternoon- she went through a few outfits (kid loves splashing;)), but she was in HEAVEN- blessed little lady!!
On her actual birthday, she went to school wearing her birthday shirt, and brought bubbles for her classmates to help celebrate her special day. She continued to say "Happy Birthday" all day long and it was the CUTEST!!!! Someone was LOVING the attention;) for sure....
The mister knew, amongst all the fun of celebrating Maggie, there comes a little sadness as I think about the day little miss, and her brother and sister, came into this world. It's a bittersweet day and the hug- shown in beautiful orange roses- helped me more than he knows. We BOTH went through a tragedy that day, but the strength that he gives me (and I hope I give HIM) to help ease the hurt on September 4th means the world...
Happy SIX to Maggie, Jack, and Nora. You three are my rockstars and not a day goes by I don't think of you ALL and how much you've meant to my life. Pretty sure I'll spend the rest of my days trying to do right by each of you- honoring the beautiful kiddos you are, the strength you gave me, and the vulnerability you taught me.
Maggie Lou: you amaze me every day- SIX looks good one you, sister!
