Life isn't about the breaths we take, but the moments that take our breath away...

March Madness 2019!!!

March always seems to move in fast forward: Evelyn's birthday, both of my parent's birthdays, my sister in laws birthday, the school ballet, spring break, and spring time extra-curriculars starting up!!!  It's nuts, but we do love it... it's like spring is on the horizon and we are all amped up ready for the fun outdoor times ahead!

{little miss at school}

Harper started gymnastics and Evelyn was glued to the glass watching her sister along with all the gymnasts one afternoon.  I have a feeling I'll be seeing HER out in that gym sometime soon!

Mama finally bit the dust.  I knew I was doomed when the fam was all coming down with colds, and sure enough... I got hit.  I was down with bronchitis for a solid 10 days.  Household still runs even when mama is down.  Evelyn spent a good hour going through her sticker book... then mommy became the sticker book- HA!

Maggie Lou got new wheels!!!  She got a big kid wheel chair complete with light up wheels!  She LOVES it and we love how comfortable she is in it!

She had another round of botox injections to loosen her muscles and did so well!!  It is AMAZING to see and feel how much more her body relaxes after those shots- she is way more comfortable and we love that botox is an option for her!

7 going on 13....
Ms. Harper Grace is legit growing up before our very eyes.  Something clicked in her this month: she is maturing and growing up like crazy.  School picture day she opted for straight hair, leather jacket, and boots- 100% her style.

{finished product on the mantle... love her pose- ha!!}

Gymnastics!  She is working her rear off to get stronger in the gym.  It is amazing to see her commitment and her pride in completing the exercises each week!  The fam went out one Saturday this month to see all the new skills she had learned- so fun!

Speaking of commitment... Harper worked so hard to pass her addition fast-facts.  Timed-tests are not her strong suit and made her so nervous every time she would sit in front of the daily test.  She worked SO HARD to finally pass by completing a page of addition problems within 3 minutes.  So hard that her teacher sent her home with this card to share with us.... Daddy celebrated her by bringing home a McFlurry just for her.  We were so proud of her determination to complete it.... and it taught us a thing or two about parenting.  Hard to watch the struggle, but so worth it when I saw her leap from the top step of the bus, run to my car, with the card in hand and a smile from ear to ear as she read each word aloud from that card.  Proud of her;).

2nd Grade Musical - Swamped
Harper was part of the frog choir in her musical this year.  She amazes us each time we see her on stage: all her apprehensions fly out the window; she rocks that stage belting out all the words and doing all the moves to each song.

{cute friends in their sweet chairs- special needs buddies for life;)}

Central Park Ballet!!!!
Dressed in Gold, Harper danced to "From this Moment" with her friends.  Ballet Week was full of early mornings, hair spray, makeup, and glitter.  She enjoys this performance so much and it was bittersweet for us, as this was the last year for her.  We are zoned for a new school next year that doesn't have a ballet program, so we soaked up all the fun this year for sure!

BFF's
Nora - Harper - Brody
These are her people... she asked us to wait after the performance so she could get a picture with them.  We love them and their families so much... hope they stay close FOREVER!!!

Running.  Stretching.  Running.  Stretching.  Repeat.
As I gear up for the Bentonville Half Marathon in a few weeks, I truly feel like I am living and breathing life from my running shoes- ha!  As part of the training, Jen and I decided to run a 10k together...

{Irish 10k}

We had a pretty nice time, great weather for a run, and our boys (and kids;)) were awesome and cheered us on from two different spots throughout the race.  Afterwards we hung at the Pate's home and enjoyed a super yummy protein-filled breakfast- great morning for sure.
Thank you to Jen, your sweet family, and MY crew for being so supportive during this race and all the training- so grateful!!!

Friend time!!!  Pate's hosted us and a couple other families one evening for Mexican night!  So much fun!  It had been TOO long since we all had gotten together... we were living it up, eating way too much- worth it though!  So FUN!!!

{Heart Ball}
Pete and I were able to dress up and join his Bayer co-workers at the American Heart Association's Heart Ball.  It was pretty fun to get all sparkly (finally try out Rent the Runway;))  and enjoy a fancy night getting to know the hubs' new peeps!

We'll be ending this month with a trip to the beach with my parents.  After a month packed of craziness, I think it's safe to say we are all looking forward to some sunshine and some downtime altogether.
Spring here we COME!!!!
