Mother's Day 2017!!!

Mother's Day
...my 6th one!!!  Gosh, it doesn't even seem possible?!?!

Every year I usually spend most of the day quietly thinking of all my munchkins, and honestly, it is usually the hardest day of the year for me having lost two of my little ones far too soon.  Prolly seems so selfish, but receiving the adorable art work made of handprints and homemade cards from each of my children as they beam with pride as I open it seriously melts my heart.  I cannot help but think of the adorableness that I would see from Jack and Nora on this day; how cute all three of them in their triple cuteness would be each trying to show me their class- made project first.  I know it's a little selfish, but it still stings a little.  Each year I try to swallow back my sorrow, and enjoy the extra cuddles and cuteness of my 3 girls... taking the time to slow down and enjoy the blessing and true miracle they are...

But THIS year was extra special...
I did receive the hand-print cards and sweet class- made sweetness from my girls as well as a little extra pampering from my husband, but...

I was able to celebrate Mother's Day with my own mom!!!  She was in town and her visit just so happened to overlap with Mother's Day- I WAS SOOOO EXCITED!!!

As the above picture shows, Nana and her mini me enjoyed multiple couch dance parties!  Evelyn LOVED IT!!!  All 3 girls had a BLAST!  They gave Nana a run for her money for sure, but there was no shortness of fun... Nana was well loved that week!!

I had SOOOOO much fun really catching up with my mom.  We spent time "sister-wiving" it around the house, having fun lunches, and getting lost in new shows!  I honestly don't think I've had time with my mom like that since I have been married and to say I enjoyed it would be an understatement....

Mother's Day Weekend fun!
The weekend was GORGEOUS!  The hubs treated my mom and I to mani/pedi's and lunch out and then we were able to walk, chat, and shop downtown Wayzata after church on Sunday.  We even came home to some of his fine home-cookin' and these yummy desserts to celebrate.

Such great memories created with my mom and family this year.  I still had time of reflection of my time as a momma, but mostly focused on the present- the gift my own mother has been in my life and  the impact she has had on how I raise my girls...

Mom... thank you for staying with us for 10 WHOLE DAYS!!!  Holy cow, I know I asked a lot of you (and Dad;)) to be gone for a bit, but I so appreciated you being here and seriously had the best time.  Thank you for your infinite wisdom, wonderful sewing skills, and perfect ability to multi-task mother-hood with me- HA!  Thank you for the beautiful bracelet made with my kiddos' names- I LOVE it.  I'm a lucky girl, and love you very much.

I also want to wish all of my family and friends a very Happy Mother's Day.  I know for many there is quiet reflection incorporated with this day... you are not alone.  Life is a beautiful dance- in whatever capacity of motherhood you've experienced know that you are loved and appreciated.
