We are well on our way to Spring!!! So crazy to think we're this far into 2017 already, but we're loving the glimpse of Spring Minnesota weather we're getting for sure!! The past few weeks have been full of fun, a little bit of sickness, and some Vegas/Family bonding!
Harper is doing well: she loves arts and crafts, Star Wars, and make-believe anything! We're in a short break from extra activities, so we've been enjoying the family time at home and moving at a little slower pace until stuff picks back up!
Harper and Evelyn: they fight like cats and dogs, but love being together just as much. Evelyn ADORES her big sister and would like to do whatever Harper does. We decided to start including Evelyn on our library adventures- LOVE!
...and we introduced them to Jenga!
Side story...
When Pete and I first met he popped over to my dorm room to say hello when his roommate at the time was meeting with a classmate on my floor. I had previously been introduced to him when there was a group of us out one evening, but other than that I didn't know this guy from Adam. It was so awkward when he showed up at my door, but I didn't want to be rude so I invited him in while he waited for his friend; the only 'social' item I had in my room was a game of Jenga so I asked if he'd like to play. Well, folks... the rest is history. I must have played a mean game of Jenga for him to stick around- HA! Anyway, here I am with OUR babies, playing Jenga with that exact same set he and I played when we were 18 years old (complete with Harper wearing a t-shirt my dad made for ME when I was her age). Yep... I know... it reeks of nostalgia, but ya.... fun family time!
Ms. Maggie is having one of her best months yet!! I have GOT to figure out how to upload videos to my blog, but she is not only sitting so much better, but she is WALKING! It's official: all 3 girls can walk! She uses a gait trainer, but she is getting around so well and truly LOVES being up with the girls. It melts my heart to see her engaged and genuinely happy. LOVE HER!!
{a sweet picture from her teacher- enjoying her time at school!}
She has discovered Barbies and loves to play with them BY HERSELF! HA! The Barbie house is in Harper's room, but while sister is at school I will more than likely find little miss totally content putting Barbies in and out of the house... in and out... in and out. HA!
We have continued with OT at Hold Your Horses as well. I cannot say enough incredible things about this program: the place is immaculate, the staff is sincere, and the horses- well they seem to be quite fond of little miss, so I love them! Maggie LOVES being on the farm. She 'talks' about Lily the pony at home and as soon as we get out of the van to head in to the barn she is squealing in delight. She is sitting better and better each session and growing stronger for sure. Incredible blessing to be a part of this program at this time in Maggie's life, for sure!
{Maggie giving Lily a treat}
Little Sister is also rocking and rolling...
aka: INTO EVERYTHING!
I thought, "while the littles are strapped in eating their lunches, I'm going to run the trash out". I was gone maybe 2 minutes. Come back in to this mess: food dumped on the floor, plates thrown on the ground, milk EVERYWHERE.
Maggie busting into laughter as Evelyn slings turkey at the floor.
Little sister so proud of herself.
Oh dear.
I snap this picture of the mess than bend down to wipe up the milk before it seeps into the wood floor.
Evelyn starts rocking in her seat and tips it over, smashing her face into the ground....
...blood everywhere
screaming toddler
swollen lip
ARE. YOU. KIDDING?!?!
It's all fun in games until someone smashes their face on the floor.
Oh this kid...
{follow up:after a couple days of eating cold foods and fluids, and a visit to the dentist, she was back to normal, I promise;)}
She is still LOVING SCHOOL...
...but not the sickness that comes with it sometimes. Tummy Bug #2 hit her hard this time... 3 days of belly aches and diaper yuckiness- poor baby!!!!!
{At least when she's a little under the weather she LOVES cuddles and lovings... forever and ever my baby you'll be;)}
You can tell spring is upon us when Daddy breaks out the canner: grape jam, mixed berry jam, and strawberry jam OH MY!!!
...and i got to sneak away for a little Mommy-friend time to watch the season finale of the Bachelor!!!! Crafty friends are AMAZING... Crafty friends who also enjoy the endless drama of televised dating ROCK!!
Leila, you out did yourself, girl... thank you for a champagne, rose-filled evening!!!
And THEN, the professionals arrived one-by-one. My mom came, then my sister, Anna, and then my dad to watch our munchkins for a long weekend while the hubs and I snuck away to Vegas!!!!
We hadn't been away since before Evelyn was born and we were looking forward to a few days of fun, but I think our girls were MORE excited to have Nana, Papa, and Aunt Anna to themselves for a few days!!!
Nana came armed with goodies: the hit the first night was the Hatchimal that Harper had to take care of while it 'hatched'. Pretty cool toy and seriously mesmerized the kids for the whole evening- ha!
I was SOOOO anxious to leave the kids. I knew my family would be rockstars with our kids and would love every minute, it was just the first time I had left all 3, I had typed out schedules and about 8 pages of notes to help guide them through life in the Lee household... goodness...
...but getting this pic within the first few hours showed me they would be more than alright!!
...and continued pics like this showed me they were having the BEST TIME!!!
Pete and I arrived at the Cosmopolitan Hotel on the strip and were blown away. The hotel was GORGEOUS and the view from our hotel room was incredible. The Bellagio fountain right outside our window, the strip behind it, and the mountains in the distance- WOW!
{Niki and Jared- GREAT hotel choice- THANK YOU!!!}
We actually had lunch by the pool while we waited for the Price Duo to arrive...
...and then it was game on- CHEERS!!!
Truly, sleeping in past 6am, a little bit of sun, catching up with great friends, and enjoying having many complete conversations with my husband (ha!!) was so nice!
{picture with a storm trooper to show our Star-Wars-obsessed 5-year-old;)}
I enjoyed getting fancy- this momma truly had to dust the heels before our trip- HA!
We enjoyed all Vegas had to offer: amazing shows, incredible food, beautiful weather, and a fair amount of people watching- Vegas is a one-of-a-kind place for sure- HA! It was made 1,000 times better being there with great friends!!!
Niki and Jared: thank you SO MUCH for inviting us out... what an INCREDIBLE weekend!!!!!
Re-entry did take a bit for me after we returned- ha! I was more than ready to hug my babies when we got back, but they had a BLAST!!! A week after my family left and Evelyn is STILL asking where they are- LOVE!!
...the good news is we did get a surprise visit from Uncle Aaron!!! He had a 3 hour layover in Minneapolis and was able to come out and have dinner with us- LOVED IT!!! I was so excited. I will take it... a layover with family is the closest thing I can get to them being able to pop over for a bit- the kids (and I) were in Heaven!!
Thanks for the visit, Uncle Aaron!!!
The trees are budding, my windows are open, and the heavy jackets are packed away... spring time here we come!!! Hope you all are enjoying the fresh, warm weather...
HAPPY SPRING!!!
