I mean really with the life events?!?!?! Ok... here's the long version;):
It began with a St. Louis trip for a follow-up with Maggie's doctors. My mom and sister met us there and took Harper to the zoo... happy family all around!
Maggie got a good report from the doctors; she is growing and developing as they expected. She is moving all parts of her body which with her brain hemorrhaging that is always the concern: her high risk of cerebral palsy. She is moving everything well, but prefers to keep her right hand fisted. Her vision is still very slow to develop, but all of her St. Louis doctors noticed vast improvement from her last visit so that was wonderful to hear! Therapy here in Bentonville has been amazing and they continue to work with her to develop to the best of her ability. This next year will be telling, but for now she's chugging along well! She is an incredibly happy baby: making all kinds of sounds, blowing raspberries, getting better and better at sitting, and SO close to rolling over! She's a chunky muffin weighing in at 19.5 lbs and 28 inches long.... I just cannot get enough of her baby rolls- we've waited a long time for them and its awesome!
The zoo did big sister in... she was out within minutes of hitting the freeway! See you in December, St. Louis!!
When we got back, it was friend time!!! We were told Olaf would be at the local bookstore....no way Harper was missing that!! Well, he got 'held up', so this cut out stood in his place- ha!
Kassi & Ryann: thank you for including Harper with all the Frozen fun- she had a BLAST!
...and yummy lunches out with friends! I LOVE how these 3 play ring-around-the rosie!!!
We sure are going to miss you, Elliott family, when you move to Chicago!!
The next week, Pete learned he was accepted for a new role with Annie's Homegrown!!! They are an organic foods company out of Berkley, CA and we have already been HUGE supporters of their yummy products.... we were thrilled Daddy was given this opportunity! Of course he had to get us matching California t-shirts to show our support!! This also came with the news that Daddy would be temporarily working from home... oh boy- talk about a new set of family boundaries for this stay-at-home momma and her ducklings;)!
Because Daddy had to turn in his company car it was the perfect opportunity to explore the world of mini-vans! I never thought I would be excited, but I was almost giddy going shopping (and I think the hubs was a little pumped up as well- although he would never admit it:)). After shoving our family of four into a mid-size vehicle for 3 years it was time to get some space and lets face it.... I was about done sitting in the backseat- ha! We had fun and oh yes- celebrated by getting ice cream sundaes... so appropriate with a brand new set of wheels- hehe!
and then BAM....this happened! I wasn't feeling well at lunch one day and thought "oh heck, let's just see...." oh yep, I saw all right: a double line within seconds. It's funny, with my other pregnancies they didn't come easily therefore when I finally saw the double line it was tears of joy. This time it was joy mixed with panic. I am a planner for sure: I like consistency and to feel in control. God is CONSTANTLY teaching me that THAT is not what life is all about. I totally freaked out, but when I went to the doctor and saw this:
I realized what an incredible blessing and miracle this little ONE life inside of me is! So here goes nothing: Lee Munchkin coming soon March 2015!
no idea why the pictures keep going sideways- my apologies!
Shortly after, Pete had to travel back to California for work and this little fur ball happened its way onto our porch. Yep, as you can see... I didn't make it very easy for him to leave (which I have since learned;)... feeding and giving a kitten a comfy bed makes for an instant pet- ha!
Harper loved this white fur ball we dubbed 'Glue', but with two pets, a pregnant mommy, and our search for a new home on the horizon, we decided it best to find Glue a home. Lucky for us, he wandered a couple houses down and found his 'new family'.... lucky little guy for sure!
We decided that our humble abode was beginning to bust at the seams: with Pete growing a business from our guest room and myself growing a tiny human, we decided make a big decision: put our house on the market and begin the search for a new one to call home! Well, our house sold in 5 days (didn't see that one coming AT ALL), but thankfully we stumbled upon a house that seems pretty perfect for the Lee Crew! It is in the final stages of construction and we hope to do a final walk through soon! Closing date tentatively October 31 (oh yes, we WILL be in costume;))- we're excited!
The rest of the month was spent breathing a little easier and letting all the changes sink in....
Little sister started really laughing- makes my heart melt!!!
...and big sister has decided she's ready to blow this Popsicle stand... this was an evening when she was SUPPOSE to be in bed asleep. Quiet as a mouse she flipped on the lights and packed she AND her sister up for the new house. Oh boy... when do they learn the concept of time?!
So here goes nothing... our family of 4 is growing by 1!
{this is me at 12 weeks- I know, I PROMISE there is only 1 in there... it's what happens when you've previously housed triplets- the bump grows quickly}
We are thrilled (and a little overwhelmed) with all the newness surrounding us... cheers to a season of change!
