I LOVE EASTER!
Christmas is my fav holiday, but Easter is my Super Bowl...
I feel like it is the gateway to spring and always an exciting time growing up Catholic. Light, cheery, and a celebration!
...so of course I decorated...
....and paid the munchkins a visit to make sure they were refreshed and crisp- ready for spring!
Girls loved dying eggs (Maggie loved watching the egg go "kerplunk"- even though she doesn't look that way here- ha)....
...and Pete and I enjoyed rainbow colored eggs all weekend long- TASTY {yet smelly- hehe}!
School Easter Hunt ready with Daddy!!!
Easter Morning...
The baskets were ready...
...and these sleepy heads seemed to enjoy them!!!
Every year growing up, my mom hosted an Easter brunch for the families that lived around us as most of them were transplants, without family, and she wanted to make sure to include them all so we could celebrate together. Each family hosted a different holiday. Through the years those family friends became our "Indiana family". They were our people. We've all been with each other through life's big moments....
but those families have all grown. Some of the kids- now adults, have moved away. The celebrations are smaller and my mom actually doesn't host the big Easter brunch anymore, so I decided I should scoop up the baton and begin the tradition here with our Arkansas family.
...each year she gives us a little something to help celebrate. This year she sent Easter platters: one for each of the girls that she signed and dated;).... love that they'll have these and hoping they'll scoop up the "Easter brunch baton" one day...
But for now... I have the baton. And I LOVE HOSTING EASTER!!!
Our friends are like family here and it is the one time of year we all get together, eat too much, let the kids play, play, play, and get the chance to catch up for a bit over the celebration of Easter.
{Gearing up for the hunt}
indoors of course because it was all of 40 degrees outside- brrrrrr, Arkansas, brrrrrr!!!
{Pretty Evelyn}

Happy Easter from my bunnies to yours- ya.....I can keep the dorky Easter phrases all day long- lol!!
Happy Easter AND Spring!!!!
