Life isn't about the breaths we take, but the moments that take our breath away...

Sisters, Sisters, Sisters!!!

I feel like the past couple weeks have been ALL ABOUT SISTERS!!  Having my two sisters {and my brother} has always been so much fun for me, and knowing my girls have each other is so special to me!  I think there is a special bond between siblings, and it has been so fun to watch how our relationship has changed as we grow up... but in watching my girls together it bringsback memories and makes me smile....

Although they enjoy each other most of the time, I couldn't help to smile when I saw Harper had done THIS to keep her sister, Maggie, from getting into her things.  I smile for two reasons: it's fun to see sibling situations play out- makes it worth all the crazy pregnancies and nutso of the past few years, but more so: Maggie is so mobile now we're having to baby proof.  A blessing I do not take lightly to know she is moving- I thank God every day for these little miracles.

Speaking of little miracles, within the past month Ms. Maggie has started sitting on her own and feeding herself.  In typical Maggie style, she is ONLY sitting unassisted at therapy {perfecting it before she shows us I'm guessing?:)}, and ONLY feeding herself peanut butter and jelly.  Today she fed herself the whole sandwich and then licked her hands- ha!  Now if we could get her to eat other things on her own?!?!  Ok ok... I'll be content in the blessing of independence- in any shape or form;)!

In keeping with the sister theme, the Lee sisters packed into the van and headed up to St. Louis for a couple appointments before surprising MY sister with a visit to celebrate her birthday!!
{Maggie has been struggling with car sickness, but motion-sickness meds seem to be doing the trick now- she was snoring on the way there- whohoo!!!}

After a good set of eye appointments in St. Louis, Daddy and the big girls headed back for some Daddy-Daughter time back at home while the littlest sister and I went onto Indy to surprise my sister!!  Pete ROCKED it at home with the girls... loved getting pics like this throughout the weekend of the fun things they did together!

And little sister and I had some fun of our own in Indy!  She sat in a high chair at a restaurant for the first time- and loved it of course, before heading to Nana and Papas and getting to play with all the kid toys without having to share- ha- she was in Heaven!

{sittin' like a big girl with Papa watching some football;) and playing with Nana}

goofy times with Evelyn!

I was also able to visit with my Gramma while we were there.  It was so nice to spend some quiet time with her, the pictures around her room bring back so many fun and wonderful family memories I hope to create with my family...

 The rest of the weekend was spent celebrating this amazing person, I get to call my sister.  Abby and I cannot be more different, but with that there is NEVER a dull moment.  She has an amazing take on life and I swear I could chat with her for hours...

We spent the weekend smushing as many sisterly and family bonding as possible: pedicures, spinning, Starbucks runs, shopping, baking, and celebrating....

'A sister can be seen as someone who is both ourselves and very much not ourselves- a special kind of double' ~ Toni Morrison

So true of my wonderful sisters, Abby and Anna!  Luv you guys and had such a blast with you both this past weekend.  Hoping my girls grow up having just as goofy, fun, and special relationship with each other as I have with you!  Already looking forward to be back with my WHOLE family in December- Christmas here we come!!!
