Life isn't about the breaths we take, but the moments that take our breath away...

Ms. Harper Grace

Ms. Harper Grace is always keeping us on our toes, and the last 6 months have been no exception.  The biggest issue I'm having- she's growing too quickly!!  I look at her most recent school picture and think how did we get here?!

Harper Grace~ I cannot help but smile looking at your adorable dimples in this picture.  You are a sweetheart with a mind of your own.  The day of this picture you were fighting tooth and nail to not have to wear tights under your dress- so mad at Mommy, but then look how precious and HAPPY you look just a short time later- hehe!  Such is life with you.  You are one happy yet fiesty little girl.  Now the little part you're slowly changing on us- you are turning into a beautiful young lady and Daddy and I cannot be more proud of you- luv ya, little lady!!

Although she's growing older, there are still some things that remain steadfast....
beginning with her complete obsession with her Daddy.  My goodness, she adores him and just the other day told me she was going to grow up and marry Daddy-ha!!  LOVE IT.  Pete may not have the opportunity to raise a son, and I know it's bittersweet, but I think he lucked out- his girls adore him and I have to say- it melts my heart...

And her LOVE of all veggies.  This particular evening this was her pick for dessert- to eat the rest of the steamed green beans from dinner- sure, my dear, sure.

The winter was pretty mild, but oh BOY when it did snow she was armed and ready with snow suit, mittens, fuzzy penguin hat, and of course a rake {we need to get some kid appropriate snow toys}, but she had a BLAST clearing the sidewalk and drive way with Daddy!

Valentine's Day with Harper...
We went to wish our angel babies a Happy Valentine's Day and give them fresh arrangements on their memorial.  After helping with the arrangements she asked to give them a hug and kiss.  Wow.  Speechless.  Pete and I stood behind her and through tears I snapped these couple pictures.  She may be physically separated from Jack and Nora, but I know not a day goes by that she doesn't think of them.  She speaks of them constantly and loves them just as she does Maggie and Evelyn... it is truly beautiful and a testament of a child's peace and understanding of those in Heaven.

Originally, the doctor thought Lil' Evelyn may come right around Valentine's Day so in my crazy nesting, I made sure the kids {and their Daddy} had little 'I Love You' gifts laid out just in case I couldn't be there on the actual day;)...

...but little sister stayed put and we were able to enjoy some Valentine's Day fun!
Harper and Pete went to her school's Sweetheart Dance together.  So much fun Harper and I had getting her all dressed up.  She loved her fancy coat and sparkly purse- got to love Daddy-Daughter Dates!

... and this year she picked out how she wanted to do her Valentine's and even signed her name to each friend!  I was so proud of her patience in helping create 24 valentines.  Afterwards, she was set that she would have an Olaf Mailbox to collect her valentines.  Needless to say, we had a good 'ol time with the heart holiday crafting;)!

The past few months have been so fun!  Harper keeps us busy with her endless {and very colorful} stories and songs.  She loves to talk about her school day and 'teach' us some things she learned that day.  She continues to LOVE any time spent with friends and has even met a few new ones in our new neighborhood!  We are LOVING the spring time; enjoying evenings outside and endless hours on the swing set!  She is always making us laugh with her daily outfit choices.  In this picture it was 'Super Hero Day' at school.  Although she can be a little shy in social situations, she had no problem sporting this ensemble for school and requested to be referred to as Batman for the day- HA!  LOVE HER!

Luv ya, Harper Grace.  You may be getting older TOO QUICKLY for my liking, but you make life so colorful.  Thank you for being an incredible big sister, sweet {yet sassy} daughter, and such an independent little lady...
