Life isn't about the breaths we take, but the moments that take our breath away...

Maggie Turns FIVE!!!!

Every year I am amazed that here we are- with Ms. Maggie- celebrating yet another birthday with her!  She is the most determined little girl I've ever met.  She kicks butt and takes names.  She loves her family and continues to teach as all about hard work and perseverance.  She is tough and is a bright light in every day.

This year: she turned FIVE!!!!  It still seems like yesterday we welcomed this little miracle into the world.  Just like yesterday that we cheered her on in the NICU and truly seems like we just brought her home from the hospital...

but now she is making leaps and bounds physically and emotionally: sitting so well, talking up a storm, and comprehends SO much!!!  She knows her letters, some colors, and loves playing!

This year we celebrated with a unicorn-themed special day for her;).
Unicorns!  Unicorns!!  Unicorns!!!

Our first part of the celebration was with her Thrive family.  This group of therapists has been incredible with Maggie!  They have helped ease her frustrations, strengthen her communication, and add so much happy to her life!  We loved having everyone together at the center to sing and share in Maggie's birthday treat!

Birthday Fun!!!
Maggie LOVES those party blowers!  You know the old fashioned cardboard things that scroll-out tissue paper when you blow on them!  She LOVES them.  So Evelyn and Harper happily obliged and blew those party blowers all day long- ha!

For her birthday, we decided to spend the morning as a family doing all of her favorite things:
#1: WALK!!!
It was a BEAUTIFUL day so we did a "nature walk" altogether...

#2: SWINGING!!!
We went to the playground at the park and Daddy pushed her for like 30 straight minutes.  She was in HEAVEN!!!

#3: NEWK'S PIZZA!!
She loves pizza from a restaurant near our house, so we left the park and went there for lunch!

...and then went home for cake and presents!!

#4: piñata!!!!
Maggie LOVES the piñata.  They have become a little tradition with birthdays around here!  Maggie LOVES hearing the whacks on the piñata and especially loves the candy and prizes flying everywhere- HA!!

I think she enjoyed her day.  We loved being able to spoil her rotten, do whatever she wanted to do, and of course indulge in cake!

YUM!!!

Such a special day.  Every year, her birthday is bittersweet.  I try hard to celebrate her and focus on all the strength her angel siblings give her, but man oh man do I miss them- especially this time of year.  Just imagining triplet moments, crazy parties, and all the chaos.... kinda love daydreaming, but also remembering how sweet they all were together....love my little trio even if there time together was cut short, I KNOW they still look out for little miss...

Happy FIFTH BIRTHDAY, Maggie Lou.
Happy FIFTH ANGEL BIRTHDAY, Jack and Nora.

You three are amazing and I love you so much....
