How can we already be to the end of ANOTHER school year?! Seems like yesterday I was nervously getting Harper to the bus stop from our rental house in August, and here we are: fully established, in our hopefully-forever-home, saying goodbye to an AMAZING first grade year for Harper Grace.
{End of the Year Celebration}
She laid out her "prettiest dress" she said, the night before, and told me exactly how she wanted her hair. She was so excited Daddy and I would be there for her celebration and couldn't wait to show us the "surprises" she'd been working on...
She greeted us at the classroom door, served us snacks and refreshments, and then sang and read poetry up in the front of the classroom with her classmates.... so sweet.
{Harper and Mrs Boyles}
Someone was MORE than crazy about her teacher this year. We cannot thank her enough for fostering confidence, encouraging, and loving our kiddo... LOVE!
The kiddos presented Mrs. Boyles with a thumbprint tree gift and Harper actually received two awards during her celebration... most improved in math and a super special friend award. A little academic acknowledgement and a little kindness acknowledgment. We are so very proud of how far she has come this year...
Pirate Day in First Grade!!!
Ms Maggie also had her last day of school. She started in Arkansas Co-op classes this past spring and although she didn't have much time in the classroom, she LOVED IT!!! Every Thursday we would take her, and she would light up to be there with her teachers and little friends... and I loved the artwork she would come home with;). She's becoming more and more social, and its fascinating to see her spread her wings;).
Eye Contact!!
Probably the COOLEST part of the social interaction she's had this last Spring... she is looking us in the eyes more and more- LOVE THOSE BABY BLUES!!
Memorial Day Weekend 2018!!!
The Lee fam came down to celebrate with us over the holiday weekend- we were PUMPED to cook pizzas together, laugh together, and catch up ALL TOGETHER!! Kinda made my heart happy to look out on our back patio to see Pete and his dad laughing and chatting as he grilled- LOVE!
Andy and kiddos were able to come too!!!! We missed Britney and Kippy, but cousins, Leila and Skyler seemed to have a great time playing with the girls!!
Skylar and Mags playing;)
{Cuddles with Grandpa}
Slip and Slide!!!
Lasted about 10 minutes before kiddos started to get hurt... ahh!!!
We closed out the fun weekend with a meal at Fish City. It is a staple of every visit and we LOVED it!!!!
After we hugged the Lee family goodbye and waved as they headed back home to Indy, we decided to head to our favorite area of NW Arkansas- Crystal Bridges. We packed a picnic and just relaxed outside while the kids explored a bit.... the perfect end to a beautiful holiday weekend.
The last day of first grade.... May 29, 2018
Dressed in her cold-shoulder top, faux fur vest, and shorts, she was READY!!
Baby girl, you continue to fascinate me each and every day... watching you become your own person has been such a gift. This past year has been one of growth and love. You have proven you are a kind soul, constantly learning and asking questions, and always loving- putting yourself out there more and more. I'm proud to be your mommy and can't WAIT to do some summer fun with you!!!
