Life isn't about the breaths we take, but the moments that take our breath away...

4th of July Fun.... Birthday & Friends OH MY!!!

Just like last year;), we arrived at our new residence a few days before our belongings...
we unloaded the uhaul, pumped up the air mattresses, and got our priorities straight:
decorate for the 4th of July- HA!

I love holidays!!!!  Didn't matter that there was NOTHING in our home, but holidays cause for celebrating AND because this holiday is also my birthday, my incredible family and thoughtful in-laws sent us the perfect decorations!!

Got the mental all set;)....

...and these beautiful flowers added the perfect amount of special to the day!

Thank you, family... unbelievable to me that you all thought in advance, and had packages delivered to our door within a day of our arrival- this birthday girl felt pretty darn special- thank you!

We were able to spend the day with our sweet friends and honest to goodness we all just picked up where we left off...
Mags and Ms. Jen were giggling the whole time...

Evelyn was loving hide-and-seek with Gavin...

...and the girls were LOST in make-believe.

Boys were already putting together a fab BBQ lunch...

...and Jen and I were talking a mile a minute.
Just like the old days...
LOVE!  LOVE!!  LOVE!!!
Thank you for having us, Pate family!!!!  LOVE YOU GUYS!!

That evening, we held up our yearly tradition (minus last year of course;)) since our girls were born, of eating way too much food, playing until WAY past bedtime, and watching our lovely husbands light stuff on fire- goodness!  HAHA!
It was a blast.

I- of course- was having all the feels that day, and got all teary-eyed when I walked into this bundt cake.  One of my FAV discoveries while living in Minnesota was Nothing Bundt Cakes.  Our last family dinner there before we left I made sure to use as an excuse to buy one last cake- they are FABULOUS!!
Well, Shannon had NO idea how much I loved them, but purchased one to help celebrate the holiday as they opened a Nothing Bundt Cakes here in NW Arkansas!!!  It was the SWEETEST gesture and yep- I inhaled one (ahem ok two) slices that night- THANK YOU!

Harper and Berkley sat down for all of 5 minutes to eat- ha... they were SO BUSY PLAYING and catching up... besties since they were 4 months old.  CUTIES!

...and Maggie and Nala were inseparable.  At one point Maggie crawled over to her bowl of food and fed Nala her dinner: Mags would place a pebble on the floor, Nala would eat, Maggie would watch and smile, and then grab another one- HA!

...And this kid refused to wear her pants OR shoes.
She is nuts.
I know, I know: no pants, no shoes, no fun for her due to safety concerns, but I PROMISE as soon as the stuff started lighting up she was on my lap;)
For as fearless as she is in ALL THINGS she was petrified of fireworks.
Daddy's look the whole evening...
lighting stick in mouth, fireworks in hand, extra lighters in his back pockets... he's a pro- HA!

Nala LOVED it!!
The kids FAVORITE part of "the show" is the Dumpy Dog.  Just like it sounds, it is a cardboard dog that you light, and ash comes out of it like a large doggy bowel movement.  Ya, I know... we are an INCREDIBLY classy bunch- HA!  But after the dog poops, it blows up.  Yep, that class continues.  And to add to that prime level of class: Nala would try to eat the dog as it blew up- HA!!!  Seriously, every time.  And we probably had a couple dozen Dumpy Dogs (remember they were the fav;))...
It was HILARIOUS and only made Evelyn's tearful worries worse- oh DEAR (although I loved the extra cuddles:)).

So, the mamas and our wingman;), hung to the back of the driveway....

...as the kids and their pyro-daddies held up a fantastic tradition!

We LOVED it ALL!!

...and this one was MUCH happier when she was out cold on Mommy (I may have added it to the list of perfect birthday gifts I've received, as well;))

Thank you, Brundige family, for another FANTASTIC year of fireworks and fun.  You all are incredible... each year gets better and better.  Rain or shine it's ALWAYS fun!!
Love you guys!!
