Easter! Easter!! Easter!!! I do love holidays. I do love spring time. I do LOVE Easter! Always fun to break out all the cheerful springtime colors, decorate the house, and send out the invites to host a fun gathering at the house. What is there not to love;)?! Anyway, I had fun preparing the house for the holiday and couldn't help but smile putting this sweet Easter Tree out on the mantle: made by my mom from some of her Easter decor. Special to me as she hosted an Easter brunch for as long as I can remember for all of my childhood friends and their families. A few years back she retired her Easter brunch as most of us sadly had moved away, but I snatched that baton and ran with it- I have SO enjoyed opening our home to our 'Arkansas family' for Easter and carrying on this tradition!
But before the main event, it was time to do some celebrating at Harper's school with their Easter Egg Hunt. You would have thought it was Christmas as they all lined up before the sprint to gather eggs- precious...
{All lined up after the hunt, counting their loot;)}
...and then it was time for Easter Egg Hunt round TWO with our neighborhood. Harper had so much fun running around after the eggs with her friends. Pete and I enjoyed making a couple NEW friends in the neighborhood... gosh do I love our little neighborhood of sweet families!
... and then the Indiana Easter Bunny;) sent a package our way for the littles. We sure do love Happy Mail in this house.... thank you, Nana & Papa!
The Easter Bunny did visit us this year. Bright and early two of the three were bright-eyed and bushy-tailed ready to tear into their baskets. Maggie was snoozing and enjoyed her basket a little later;)... I like your style, Mags!
Then it was time to turn on the oven, start the timers, and pull the food out- Easter Brunch here we go!!
As it usually is in early spring, Easter morning was a bit cold and rainy. So we improvised: Easter Egg Hunt in the living room- ha! Kids still loved it- so that's what counts- right?!
...and I just LOVE this picture of Maggie and Mr. Jarrod. She got a little overwhelmed at the brunch, so we brought out the jumper to let her have her space. She was squealing in delight whenever Mr. Jarrod would come over to her- it was precious!!!!
To all the families that came to celebrate this holiday with us- thank you! And to those we didn't get a chance to see this year...
...HAPPY EASTER!!!!
I hope it was a beautiful celebration for you all and HAPPY {start to} SPRING!!!
