Life isn't about the breaths we take, but the moments that take our breath away...

Is it really 2016?!?!

The start to a new year already?!?!  So CRAZY to me, but bring it on- right?!

Harper began the start to this year in a whirlwind of some sort of world all her own- ha!  She is LOST in her own imagination most of the time and is constantly telling stories and asking question after question.  She keeps her Daddy and I on our toes- most of the time we're trying to decipher the story from reality.  She loves doing hair: whether mine, or Daddy's or a dolls- she's all about it.  Not so keen on what I do with her hair and prefers to wear hers down without a hair thing- thank goodness we cut it short- hehe.  She is enjoying her time in Junior K: currently learning about space... caught her drawing the solar system during church- oh goodness.  She started in a new gymnastics program at The Little Gym and really enjoys it.  Loves that she is one of the older kids in the class 'helping' her classmates and loves her coach, Mr. Cody.  Can we say heart eyes for Mr. Cody?!  All in all- she's doing well- slowly coming out of her shell around other kids her age- not always the bystander anymore and creates the silliest dinner conversations.   She may make me tired, but I can say- being her Mommy is quite fun... you never know what you're in for each day she opens those peepers.

Somehow when Mommy says, "say cheese", that means to also close your eyes or look away... Every.  Single.  Time.
Perfecting her forward roll!

She and her buddies at a swim party!
Chuck-E-Cheese!  We may or may not have invited ourselves along as the Pate family went to Chuck-E-Cheese- ha!  Harper had a blast doing all the games with her friends- love love them!
{Thanks for letting us crash family fun morning, Pate family;)}

Someone had so much fun spending the rest of her day off from school helping mommy get organized for the local children's consignment sale- always a great helper!
{and there are those closed eyes AGAIN!!}

Junior K... it's been the best thing for this child.  All sorts of challenging learning activities and Mommy and Daddy are pretty impressed with how well she is doing- continually tells us how much she loves it.
The Littles
I feel they are so much like twins these days- hehe!
Maggie Lou
aka: Mag-a-licious, Maggie Lou, Mags
{only one of our babies with lots of nicknames}
She is a GOOF!  She has the sweetest personality, but is the most determined little thing I have ever met.  She keeps me guessing most days as I try my best to learn her own little language, but she is just always making me smile.  She has learned how to sit up on her own from a crawling position, and then tries so hard to get herself on all fours so she can crawl.  She's not quite strong enough, but don't think that keeps her from trying.  She made me a bit teary last week, as she kept sitting herself up, but not quite able to figure out how to put her arms out to catch herself.  Poor girl had bruised her chin, forehead, and bloodied her lip before Daddy got it to "click"- put your arms out, sweet girl, makes it much easier.
She is still telling us 'what's up' when she eats.  We think she just knows she can control her eating more so than other activities, but meals are few and far between where she isn't spitting, trying to hit, or just straight up throwing stuff on the floor.  She tests our patience, but she is eating and feeding herself for the most part... we're blessed.

{Trying a little sensory activity with children's  shaving cream and toys... they weren't quite sure- ha!}
And then it was time for Maggie to head up to Kansas City for her first botox injections with a new doctor.  Big sister was AWESOME keeping her sisters happy while we were there and Maggie got the thumbs up to have the procedure the next day....
...until she came down with a tummy bug that evening.  We were so sad for her: she seemed miserable and out of sorts feeling yucky in a hotel, but we were also sad she wouldn't be able to start her new treatment.
The doctors could not have been nicer, but home we went until she would start feeling better.  It was a long couple days, but baby girl slowly started feeling better- babies sick are the WORST!!
Littlest sister, Evelyn is growing up so quickly!!  I cannot believe celebrating her first birthday is right around the corner- it's gone WAY to fast this time around!!!  She is so vocal, chatting with us about everything.  She and Maggie even started 'talking' back and forth between their rooms when I put them down for nap- ha!  She is eating anything and everything- just waiting on those teeth, so she can explore more and more textures- crossing my fingers they come soon!!  She began army crawling like Maggie and we thought oh NO- she's never going to crawl on all fours.  And then she scooted herself right over to her Daddy and I, and showed us she could do it- she is our FIRST baby to crawl on all fours- we are psyched!!!  She is also LOVING her Daddy time!  Any chance she gets to be nestled right up next to him- she takes it... so sweet!
But when her oldest sister enters the room, all bets are off... Harper is the COOLEST in the eyes of Evelyn.. haha.

Evelyn's new thing: raising her arms up 'so big' for you to do the same... so cute!

And the furry brother is FINALLY out of restriction from his kennel!!  Poor guy 'found' us last October.  We fell in love with him, and after lots of trying and no owner in sight we took him in and named him Norman!  Sadly, he tested positive for heart worm and had to go through intensive treatment and restriction for  3 months.  He is now back among the living and a happy boy!  Problem is, he's somewhat forgotten his manners the past few months, so we invested in a training collar.  It took a couple weeks, but he is behaving so much better- hehe, and we LOVE having him back around us!
Mid January I decided it was time to decorate for another holiday... a couple touches added to begin the season of love- hehe!  Happy Valentine's Day month!!!

And we were able to kick off this season of love;), with a date night!!  Happy Birthday, friends... thank you for inviting us to celebrate with you!!

Even though the date nights are fun, it is pretty nice to come home to these little munchkins.  It may be crazy.  It may be tiring.  It may be flat out nuts.  But I wouldn't change a thing.  Or maybe I would ask them to stop growing up so quickly.  Time slow down a bit.  I want to breathe in their littleness a bit longer...
