Mother's Day was wonderful this year. We have been so busy with wedding festivities for friends and family on top of St. Louis appointments for Ms. Maggie that we haven't had too many weekends when it's been just the four of us...
This year, I had requested a family day, free of household projects and our usual weekend routine;). With that being said, we settled into the car for a short ride to Tulsa to visit the aquarium. Harper loved it so much, dragging Pete and I all around that place to check out every living creature there;)...
Feeding the snapping turtles was the highlight {using a long pole of course- those suckers looked like they could snap your finger right off;)}
petting sting rays and cat sharks;)
Pete treated me well with a couple certificates to keep the theme of 'Me Time' lasting a little longer...
I got a certificate to enjoy lunch and a massage with my great friend, Jen, as well as tickets to a concert {an actual DATE night!} in a couple months when a new amphitheater opens... I was so appreciative.
a few hours without kiddos?!?!?! Love them dearly, but chatting uninterrupted was pretty nice;)
Thank you, Jen for enjoying a relaxing afternoon with me. And thank you husbands for making it possible;).
I may have had a request or two this Mother's Day and enjoyed all the pampering I was given, but nothing touched me quite like receiving this that Harper's teachers had helped her put together. These lil things melt my heart and will be a treasure for years to come.
Being a momma is truly the hardest yet the most rewarding job I have ever had. My lil squirts exhaust me, run me ragged, and make me sweat, but I have never been as happy as when I get their genuine hugs or happy grin. And even though a couple of my lil squirts are enjoying the view from Heaven, I still cannot help but smile thinking of their cuteness and the peace of knowing they're in such a good place...
I was certainly thinking of all my fellow Momma friends {whether related by blood or friendship} this past Mother's Day. Thank you for being my friends, sharing such fantastic ideas with me, and allowing our family to be a part of yours... you are all AMAZING and I know my journey as a mother is made possible by all of you...
Happy BELATED Mother's Day!
