Yummy Food & Modern Warfare

Married Life has been fun: there are the moments of learning to do new things, but also of remembering to indulge in those more "childish" past times ;)...

I have been trying my best in cooking, thank you to my family for passing along all of your WONDERFUL recipes for me to attempt to re-create.

The following is a recipe from Pete's mother, one of his favorite dishes, that I decided to surprise him with after his long week out of town:

Darla's Chicken Alfredo

Ingredients:

~ 4-6 grilled/blackened boneless chicken breasts
~ 16 oz. heavy whipping cream
~ grated parmesean cheese
~ shredded parmasean romano cheese
~ pasta (we've tried it with all kinds- it's all good!)
~ optional sauteed broccoli or mushrooms

Directions:

Boil noodles. Drain. Place back in hot pot. Add whipping cream, cheeses to taste, and veggies if desired. Lastly, slice chicken and add to hot pasta and salt and pepper if desired. Serve immediately.

We love this great meal, especially when you're really hungry, makes your home smell fantastic! Enjoy and thank you Darla for sharing this Lee Favorite with me!

This week, we also tried out a very yummy gift from my parents as well! Anyone that has lived with me knows that one of my FAVORITE dishes is Chicken Pot Pie. Well, this Chicken Pie is from Harry & David and I hear is also on Oprah's Favorite List ;). Pete and I can attest- it is fabulous and would be a great Christmas gift if you're still lookin'!

Thank you, Mom & Dad- I love and miss you so much!

Lastly, this was a candid shot of life for us on a Saturday. My WONDERFUL brother ;) gave Pete an excellent gift for his birthday last year; probably one of the best birthday gifts he's received since I've known him and he has DEFINITELY gotten his money's worth from it. Modern Warfare is a must loved past time of Pete's! There is always a need to 'level up' and at this moment his wing man was right there with him to fight the mission.

Thought I would share this picture of my favorites....

Last but not least, from our family to yours we would like to wish you a very
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!!!

Enjoy trying new things, but don't be too grown up- indulging in childish pastimes make family time so fun!

I'm going to have to try that recipe!! It looks really good. I have noticed that I am not a great cook, so maybe I'll start taking pointers from you and trying to make what you suggest :)
